Lately our schedules are really fcked up so usually when I come back home he's heading out for work, and when he comes back I'm getting ready to leave for work ;_; so we're trying to go out for a date at least once a week to spend some quality time together

We cooked the biggest pancake ever! We wanted to see if we managed to flip it XD (we did it but my plates weren't big enough so we had to cut it in the end looool) I love having some quiet time together ;w; he had to go to work in the early evening but it was ok, my love battery was enough charged ww
The new anime we started was Tomodachi Game! We are a lot into psychological/thriller stuff (and I'm addicted to the high stakes game clichè XD) so we literally devoured it!! 12 episodes watched in one breath ww If you're into thriller/strategy/battle royal stories I recommend it!

Today I got my SheIn haul so I'll do a quick post to show you what I got! ToxicTsukino in some of her videos showed some gal pieces made by SheIn and I decided to give them a try♡
I liked it so much in pics (it gave me so many Glamorous Jane vibes) but the fabric is so cheap!! O_O
It looks almost like a cosplay ;_; so disappointing! I still need to try it on but meh... this kind of fabric makes my skin itchy so I'll probably have to return it ;_;
Again, another cheap dress... Looks like a 1$store lingerie babydoll. I know I encourage using real babydolls as MA*RS substitutes... but this is too much XD it's obviously a nightgown ^^" so meh, I'm gonna return it too ;_;
Another cheap dress ;_; but this time the fabric is a little different from the other two; it's like swimsuit fabric, also it's a bit too long for my taste (but it's easy to fix). Anyway for such a cheap price I can't really complain, it still looks better than the other two!
Ok this is such a LUCKY piece!! Even if it's the cheapest one, it's literally PERFECT. The fabric is cotton, soft and stretchy, the strass print is flawless and it looks almost like the original one!! Almost cuz it's a bit too short (more of a crop top than a tube top like the stock pic) and thin, but for this price is amazing!
Obviously I need to see how much durable those sandals are (for more than 10€ I expect them to survive this summer at least XD), but they're really soft and the size is perfect! You can choose your size, no need to buy one size less or more like from Aliexpress etc. Also the pink bows are like small cushions, soooo comfy ;w;
(UPDATE: After a month of wearing, I can totally swear those are the best sandals I ever bought :') super resistant and comfy. 12/10 XD)

So the first most important thing you need to understand before getting started is that you're trying to wear a style THAT ALREADY EXIST. That means it has its own rules, estabilished during years, just like any other style (coquette, cottagecore, emo, punk, goth etc)
If you can accept and understand that a leopard top isn't cottagecore or that not every red plaid item is good for punk, then you can accept that not everything that's animalier or pink is good for gal.
La prima cosa che bisogna capire prima di iniziare è che state provando uno stile che ESISTE GIA'. Questo significa che ha le sue regole, stabilite durante gli anni, come per ogni stile o estetica (coquette, cottagecore, emo, punk, goth etc)
Se potete accettare e capire che un top leopardato non è cottagecore o che non tutti i capi tartan vanno bene per il punk, allora potete capire che non tutto ciò che è rosa o animalier va bene per il gyaru.
There's a lot of misinformation about gal and a lot of teens are confusing it with y2k fashion
While obviously there's nothing wrong with mixing fashion, you can't just wear a y2k outfit and call it gyaru just cuz gal was inspired by 90's/00's american trends
It's like wearing a Nightwish tee and call it goth, that's just... not it
If some types of rules are made in a fashion style it's not to bond you to them, but to help you get that particular look EVEN if you don't know how to do it. So you shouldn't hate those rules, but instead understand them and use them for your gain.
As I said in the previous "episode" (lol) the best thing you can do to start is choose a gal model and COPY her. I didn't write it to push you all into becoming clones, but to help you pratice the style until you're practiced enough to customize it.

Ovviamente non c'è nulla di male a mischiare più stili, ma il concetto è che non potete buttarvi addosso una tuta Juicy Couture e chiamarlo gal solo perchè la suddetta tuta è del 2000 XD
Se ci sono determinate regole non è per farvi diventare dei cloni instupiditi, ma per AIUTARVI ad ottenere quello stile, quell'estetica senza impazzire!
Perciò non "odiate" queste regole, piuttosto comprendetele ed utilizzatele a vostro vantaggio.
Come ho spiegato nel precedente "episodio" la cosa migliore per iniziare è scegliere una modella gyaru e copiarla! Prendete un suo outfit, dividetelo in punti (leggete l'episodio precedente per capire meglio) e ricreatelo con ciò che avete! Questo vi aiuterà a far pratica e a "farvi l'occhio gyaru" (cioè imparerete a distinguere un capo gal da uno normie ad occhio) finchè non sarete pronte per creare la vostra visione del gyaru.
Personally I prefer to stick to the general 2008-2010 gal fashion, but a lot of old gen gyarus (after years in the main style) evolved their personal view of gal fashion and made it original. The biggest example of this was Lhouraii, now her style is something totally different but she used to be one of the best gals here: after years and years of wearing gal fashion, she evolved her gyaru style customizing it onto her own ideas (indeed even if her current style isn't gyaru, her makeup remained very gyaru inspired).
Personalmente preferisco seguire i trend gyaru del 2008-2010, ma molte gyaru della vecchia generazione (dopo anni di pratica) hanno evoluto la loro visione personale della moda gal e l'hanno resa originale.L'esempio più grande di questo è stato Lhouraii, ora il suo stile è qualcosa di totalmente diverso ma era una delle migliori gyaru all'epoca: dopo anni e anni passati a vestire gyaru, ha evoluto il suo stile personalizzandolo secondo le sue idee (infatti anchese il suo stile attuale non è gyaru, il suo trucco è rimasto molto ispirato al gyaru).
I remember to you all that gyaru was born from middle-upper class girls who wanted to break the "good girl" rules and stand out as rebels (but in a "rich" way lol, like one day Regina George from Mean Girls went crazy and decided to rebel against restrictive parents by dressing like Paris Hilton and partying with deliquent guys lmao) and the trends were set by the most popular of those girls, so it's kinda natural that at some point it became so mainstream that the gals started changing it and fusing it with other styles (giving birth to other gal substyles like goshikku or even creating something new like larme kei).
Vi ricordo che il gyaru è nato da ragazze della classe medio-alta che volevano infrangere le regole da "brava ragazza" e distinguersi come ribelli (ma in modo "da ricchi" lol, come se un giorno Regina George di Mean Girls fosse impazzitae avesse deciso di ribellarsi contro dei genitori restrittivi vestendosi come Paris Hilton e frequentando rave poco raccomandabili lmao); le tendenze sono state stabilite dalle più popolari di quelle ragazze, quindi è abbastanza naturale che a un certo punto sia diventato così mainstream che le gyaru stesse hanno iniziato a cambiarlofondendolo con altri stili (dando vita ad altri sottostili femminili come il goshikku o addirittura creando qualcosa di nuovo come il larme kei).
Also the style grew along with the girls who were trendsetting it, that's why the old school style includes tanning, flashy eyeshadows and surfer style (trends inspired by the american beach scene, since the style was new they didn't have any other inspiration apart from american girls; their life was so restrictive, boring and "devoted" to study, that they decided to take inspirations from girls who looked like they lived to party and be popular&fashionable) while the 2010 fashion follows various substyles and trends setted by japanese celebrities (like Tsubasa Masuwaka or even Koda Kumi, the singer that I'll keep forever in my heart cuz she pratically invented agejo lol - but I'll talk about her in another post). That means that even if at first look old school ganguro and agejo have nothing in common (I think that's also why a lot of people thinks ganguro isn't gal but a separate style), if you analyze them you'll notice they still have the same structure: bold eye makeup that stands out, dyed volume hair (dyed in lighter colors to make the eye makeup stand out more), trendy nails and flashy clothes with a lot of accessories and creativity. So I think those points are the basics to look gal, and I want to analyze them with you to help you start with gal fashion in a more logical and easy way, also providing some "basic items shopping lists" with suggested links for a more quick and easy use.
With those premises done, let's start! :D
Quindi lo stile si è evoluto insieme alle ragazze che ne dettavano i trend, ecco perché lo stile old school include abbronzatura, ombretti appariscenti e ispirazione "surfista" (tutti trend ispirati alla beach scene americana, poiché lo stile era nuovo non avevano altra ispirazione a partele celebrità americane e le celebrità giapponesi che a loro volta si ispiravano agli altri artisti europei - uscendo quindi dagli "schemi" - come Namie Amuro; la loro vita era così restrittiva, noiosa e "dedita" allo studio, che hanno deciso di ispirarsi ai loro idoli e a quelle ragazze che sembravano vivere per fare festa ed essere popolari & alla moda) mentre i trend del 2010 seguono vari sottostili e tendenze dettate più dalle celebrità giapponesi(come Tsubasa Masuwaka o anche Koda Kumi, la cantante che porterò per sempre nel mio cuore perchè ha praticamente inventato l'agejo lol - ma di lei parlerò in un altro post).Ciò significa che anche se a prima vista il ganguro old school e l'agejo non hanno nulla in comune (penso che sia anche il motivo per cui molte persone pensano che il ganguro non sia gyaru ma uno stile separato), se li analizzate noterete che hanno la stessa struttura: trucco occhi vistoso che risalta, capelli voluminosi (tinti in colori più chiari per far risaltare maggiormente il trucco occhi), unghie decorate e vestiti appariscenti con tanti accessori e creatività.Quindi penso che quei punti siano le basi per sembrare gal, e voglio analizzarli con voi per aiutarti a iniziare con la moda gal in un modo più logico e semplice, fornendo anche alcune "liste della spesa di articoli di base" con link suggeriti per un piùutilizzo facile e veloce.Fatte queste premesse, iniziamo!:D
FROM AN OBAA GYARU 🌸 #2: Gyaru Starter Pack (what you need if you want to start with gyaru fashion)
1. Makeup
Makeup is complementary with hair, but I'll explain this here:
Makeup & Hair go together in a cycle.
What I mean is that eyemakeup, eyebrows makeup and hair are combined to complement each other in this scheme:
Hair -> skin -> brows -> eyemakeup
where the "->" means "makes pop out"
So the logic here is:
- you dye your hair blonde to make your tan pop out more
- you tan to make your dyed brows pop out more
- you dye your brows to make your makeup pop out more
+ pink lips/cheek to make them stand out on tanned skin
This makes the eyemakeup look like the most important feature; and it is, cuz everything about the gyaru "face" is about making the eyes pop out, that's also why we do light colored eyebrows & lips even as shirogyarus (aka not tanned gyarus), cuz they must go "in background" while the eyes must be the protagonists.
Il trucco è complementare ai capelli, ma lo spiego qui:
Trucco e capelli sono "collegati" in una sorta di cerchio.
Quello che voglio dire è che il trucco degli occhi, il trucco delle sopracciglia e i capelli sono combinati per completarsi a vicenda in questo schema:
Capelli -> pelle -> sopracciglia -> trucco occhi
dove il "->" significa "fa uscire"
Quindi la logica è:
- ti tingi i capelli di biondo per far risaltare di più l'abbronzatura
- ti abbronzi per far risaltare di più le sopracciglia tinte
- ti tingi le sopracciglia per far risaltare di più il trucco+ labbra/guance rosa per farle risaltare sulla pelle abbronzata
Come potete vedere il trucco degli occhi la caratteristica più importante, perchè tutto ciò che riguarda la struttura del "viso" gyaru (inteso come insieme di trucco + acconciatura) è pensato in modo da valorizzare gli occhi sopra ogni cosa: ecco perchè anche al di fuori del ganguro si continua con le sopracciglia&le labbra super chiare, perchè in qualunque caso il protagonista è il trucco occhi.
I'll specify that it's the beach scene that inspires gals to go
tanning & dye their hair blonde: if you live by the beach or attend it you should know that sun tanning makes your hair lighter exactly as it makes your skin darker (not that it makes you go from black hair to blonde XD but salt & sun light makes the color fade away, that's also why it's recommended to not tan or bathe at the beach if you dye your hair, it makes the hairdye color fade); all of this because they were struggling to look like popular girls with fun lives, aka the ones who were constantly at beach (as I said in the premise); after years it became "just" a way to make everything more flashy. So you can obviously change something, BUT you need to do it thinking about the result; this is just the "basic scheme", the one that works out the better, but you can customize it on your features
E.g. I usually don't tan and also pale pink lips don't look good on me. So I keep my hair dark brown and use a pink lipstick similar to my natural lip color, not too dark but not even baby pink XD, so they pop out on my skin, BUT my eyemakeup is still more dark and strong than them. I don't go for blonde eyebrows, but they're always at least one shade lighter than my haircolor to make them less "important" than my eyes (all of this would obviously change once I dye my hair or tan lol)
Whatever you do, remember that the focus should be your eyes!
Specifico che è la movida delle spiagge ad ispirare le gals ad abbronzarsi e tingersi i capelli: se vivi in una località costiera o le frequenti saprai che abbronzarsi al sole combinato con la salsedine schiarisce i capelli esattamente come ti scurisce la pelle (non che ti faccia diventare da mora a bionda XD ma sole+sale fa "scolorire" i capelli, infatti i parrucchieri raccomandano di non andare al mare con i capelli tinti di fresco); tutto questo perchè volevano sembrare ragazze popolari, ovvero quelle che frequentavano i party in spiaggia: col tempo divenne semplicemente un modo per sembrare più "vistose". Perciò potete cambiare qualcosa ovviamente, ma sempre "potenziando" il resto e pensando al risultato finale: ad esempio io non mi abbronzo d'inverno e il rosa chiaro come rossetto no mi dona, perciò uso un rossetto più scuro, sempre rosa ma più scuro XD (è un rosa/fucsia barbie meno fluo, anche se in foto esce sempre più scuro lol) ed in contrasto faccio le sopracciglia sempre chiare e il makeup occhi più scuro e "pesante" (il tutto cambierebbe se mi abbronzassi o cambiassi colore di capelli)
Qualunque cosa fai, ricorda che il focus dovrebbe essere sui tuoi occhi!
So "generally" gyaru makeup should have:
- light colored eyebrows, wing shaped or at least thin&neat
- downward thin eyeliner
- eyedroop (made with eyeliner or smudged eyeshadow/pencil)
- thick lashes (mascara or fake ones)
- strong matte contouring
- strong blush matching with lipstick
- light colored lipsticks, generally pink, nude or orange (with exceptions ofc)
Quindi "generalmente" il makeup gyaru dovrebbe avere:
- sopracciglia il più chiare possibili, a forma d'ala di gabbiano o generalmente sottili
- eyeliner sottile che curva verso il basso il più possibile
- un droop (fatto con eyeliner o sfumato con l'ombretto/matita)
- ciglia voluminose (che sia mascara o ciglia finte)
- Contouring palette
(it must have a white matte powder for the nose strip, tan matte powder
for nose sides, bonus if it has a highlighter for details on the nose
strip/cheeks)
- Eyebrow pencil/palette (one shade lighter than your haircolor, if your eyebrows are really dark you can add a eyebrow mascara)
- Pink blush (or orange, depending on your skin tone)
I
skipped foundation & concealer cuz those are personal and depend on
your skintone rather than your style, but obviously if you need them
get them XD
Also
I would add a brown/natural eyeshadow palette, but it's not essential
so you can get it or not, use it or not, but eyeshadow would obviously
make it better
- Palette per contouring
(dovrebbe avere una sezione bianca matte per la striscia centrale e una
sezione marrone freddo per i lati del naso, punti bonus se ha anche un
illuminante da usare sulle guance, sotto gli occhi e per i dettagli
della striscia centrale del naso)
- Matita/palette per sopracciglia (di almeno una tonalità più chiara del vostro colore di capelli, se sono molto scure potete anche usare un mascara per sopracciglia)
- Blush (rosa o arancione in base al vostro tono di pelle/stile)
- Rossetto(rosa o arancione in base al vostro tono di pelle/stile)
1.2 Circle Lenses
I don't really know if I should put this together with makeup or not, but I really want to talk about it
First of all, if you're new to this and don't know what circle lenses (cl) are, they're basically the lenses used by cosplayers too: cl are special colored lenses with a bigger diameter than regular lenses to make the eye look bigger and cuter. Cosplayers usually use more "extra" ones, with strong colors and particular patterns that pop out (so they're visible in photos), while gyaru use natural models that are meant for aesthetics more than cosplay, often slightly transparent and with more shadows/highlights to make the eye cuter but still natural.
Non so se avrei dovuto metterle con il trucco, ma credo sia comunque il caso di parlarne
Prima di tutto, se non sapete cosa sono le circle lenses (cl), sono in pratica le lenti usate anche dai cosplayers: sono lenti speciali colorate con un diametro superiore a quello delle lenti normali (generalmente sopra i 13mm) per far l'occhio più grande e grazioso.
I cosplayers solitamente usano le più grandi e vistose, con colori strani e disegni particolari per farle risaltare in foto, mentre le gyaru preferiscono i modelli più naturali fatti per bellezza, generalmente più trasparenti e con più punti luce/ombra per far sembrare l'occhio più carino ma sempre naturale.
Everyone knows that circle lenses weren't available since the beginning but nobody can deny that cl improves the whole look. The point is that since your makeup is so bold and strong you should "soften" your look using cl: those lenses have a bigger diameter than regular lenses and they're designed to make your eyes more dolly and bigger; you don't have to wear them if you can't: while they obviously improve the look (bigger lenses balances your bold makeup to look less "scary" and more natural), they're not mandatory and there's plenty of tutorials about how to do your makeup without lenses! I'll link you my two favorites, from my waifu LizzieBee and the beautiful Lamiann :D
Tutti sanno che le circle lenses non erano disponibili agli inizi, ma nessuno può negare che migliorino l'intero look. Il punto è che siccome il tuo trucco gyaru è carico e "vistoso" dovresti "addolcirlo" con le cl: avendo un design più grande delle lenti normali bilanciano meglio il trucco per renderlo meno "spaventoso" e più naturale. Ovviamente tutto ciò è un consiglio, un modo per rendere il trucco più dolce e femminile, ma non sono obbligatorie, molte gal non le indossano! Aggiungo qui due fantastici makeup tutorials rigorosamente senza lenti, fatti da due delle mie gals preferite, la mia waifu LizzieBee e la bellissima Lamiann :D

Hair is another big staple in gal fashion: styling it is where gyarus creativity hits the most. Starting from old school gyarus, who focused on dying it lighter and playing with layers & accessories, to the sujimori boom around 2010, it was always an important point in gal fashion. At the beginning it was like "go blonde or die", but now it's more common to have darker shades (while blonde/dark blonde still remains the n.1 haircolor), the thing that matter is to style it and take care of it.
Even when it seems not styled, usually it has at least straightener styling + extensions to give more volume. The key point here is volume, so whatever you do you must focus on this: you can backcomb it or add extensions. Thankfully now it's easy to find cheap exte even in 1$Store, and they're great to start cuz they usually cost about 5-10€, and you can practice on them without wasting a lot of money XD But you can work with literally anything, from short hair to long hair.
I capelli sono un altro capo saldo nella moda gal: acconciandoli è il modo in cui le gal esprimono maggiormente la loro creatività. Partendo dalle ganguro, che si concentravano sul decolorarli e sul giocare con scalature e accessori, al boom sujimori del 2010, è sempre stato un punto importante dello stile. All'inizio era "bionda o niente", ma ora è normale vedere gal con capelli di qualunque colore, anche scuro (sebbene il biondo rimanga il colore gal n.1), la cosa importante è acconciarli e averne cura.
Anche se sembrano non acconciati, in realtà qualunque gyaru ha sempre almeno i capelli piastrati con delle exte per dare volume.
Qui è il punto chiave: il volume è la cosa più importante, quindi concentrati su questo: puoi farlo cotonando i capelli o aggiungendo, appunto, extensions. Fortunatamente ora si trovano pure nei TuttoMille e sono perfette per iniziare perchè costano tra i 5-10€, e puoi far pratica senza sprecare tanti soldi XD Ma puoi lavorare su qualunque tipo di capello, da quelli lunghi a quelli corti.
So as a "starter hair kit" I would recommend:
- a comb
- hairspray
- straightener
- curler
Perciò come "starter kit" raccomanderei:
-un pettine con la punta
-lacca
-piastra
-ferro per i ricci
I did a collage of 3 specific products which are the best for me: this comb (you can find it in every 1$store or hairdresser shop) is perfect for backcombing and the "point" part is useful to pick out small strands to do sujimori and other styles; this hairspray is pratically GLUE, it's the best for hairstyling, it's used also in cosplay cuz it can last ages XD; and this hairstyling set is good for beginners cuz you got every tool you need for a cheap price.
Since this is a starter pack, I'll stop here cuz at beginning is better to focus on curling & giving it more volume; I'll made another post about more hair tricks, don't worry!
Ho fatto un collage di prodotti specifici che secondo me sono i migliori: questo pettine (che trovate letteralmente ovunque, dai TuttoMille ai negozi per parrucchieri) è perfetto per cotonare (grazie ai denti stretti) e la punta è perfetta per dividere i capelli o suddividere in ciocche piccole per il sujimori; questa lacca invece è praticamente colla, la usano pure i cosplayer quindi prendete questa e lasciate il resto XD infine questo hairstyling set è perfetto per iniziare perchè con un solo attrezzo avete tutti quelli di cui avete bisogno per un prezzo basso.
Dal momento che è solo uno starter pack mi fermo qui, farò un post apposito sull'hairstyling :D
3. Nails
Thankfully it's trendy to get 3d acrylics nails so now you can just get them done everywhere BUT if you're constantly broke like me xD consider buying 3d press on nails from 1$Stores! For 3$ you get your nails done and you can remove them and put them on as much as you want! It's perfect for students or workers like me who needs their nails short. If you need them to stay on more, you can just use nail glue and remove them by gently dipping the edges in nail polish remover with a ear bud, let it stay on for a minute then it should come off (repeat if it doesn't).
Mostly gals wore square nails until 2008/2009 then the trend became to have almond nails, but there's not a real rule about it, just keep them nice, clean and cute :D
Fortunatamente va di moda ora farsi le unghie decorate in acrilico quindi potete letteralmente farvele ovunque MA se siete squattrinate come me XD o semplicemente non sopportate di avere unghie lunghe tutti i giorni, potete prendervi le unghie adesive dei TuttoMille :D con un paio d'euro avete il vostro set (addirittura li vendono già decorati) da incollare con gli adesivi o la colla apposita (pro tip per rimuoverle: bagnate un coton fioc nell'acetone/solvente per smalto, e bagnate lo spazio tra la punta dell'unghia finta e quella vera, lasciate agire e dopo poco dovrebbero togliersi facilmente).
La maggior parte delle gal indossava unghie squadrate fino al 2008/2009, poi il trend divenne le unghie a mandorla, ma non c'è una vera e propria regola, l'importante è che siano ben curate e carine :D
4. Clothing
Everything in gyaru is about breaking monotony, so do it even in your outfit, but keep it fashionable!
E.g. Break that black x white outfit with some hot pink shoes & belt
Add a coat in another color but with elements in the main colors (e.g. Referring to previous example, add a baby pink coat with white or black details)
Go OTT, use layers and accessories but without exaggeration cuz otherwise you're going decora 😂
Do not tone down (unless the situation asks for it, like at school or work) cuz everything about gyaru is going flashy and stand out like the goddess you are
But anyway to make everything even more simple I wrote down what I think are the must have to start with gyaru, thinking about gyarukei to keep it "general", obviously it need some minor changes for some other styles but imho it would still make a good starting wardrobe
To avoid wasting money on too many things, you can start buying clothes in black/white + your main color, which is your most worn color (e.g. For me it's pink), and those would be your "basic colors" from which you can build your wardrobe; after you establish a good starter wardrobe, you can explore the other colors and experiment :D
I'll keep it simple and I really recommend you to check out your local flea markets/goodwill/thrifting shops before wasting money online! Since it's an old fashion it's really easy to find good stuff between old used clothes :D
Tutto nel gyaru è basato sul rompere la monotonia, quindi fallo anche con i tuoi outfits, ma sempre in maniera trendy!
Ad esempio, dai vita a quell'outfit bianco/nero con una cintura&scarpe rosa fluo
Aggiungi una giacca in un altro colore ma con elementi dello stesso colore predominante nell'outfit (es. riferito all'esempio precedente, aggiungi una giacca rosa chiaro con dettagli bianchi o neri)
Andate sopra le righe, vestite "a strati" e aggiungete accessori ma senza esagerare, altrimenti andate sul decora XD
Non smorzate l'outfit a meno che la situazione non lo richieda (tipo a scuola o al lavoro) in quanto il concetto stesso del gyaru è essere extra e risaltare come le ragazze cool che siete!
Ma per facilitarvi le cose vi ho fatto un elenco di "necessità" basate sui trend del gyarukei (il gyaru generico)
Per non sprecare soldi su un sacco di cose, partite con roba in bianco/nero + il vostro colore preferito (quello che indossate di più) e create un guardaroba "basico": una volta fatto, potrete sperimentare e investire in pezzi più particolari, sempre avendo capi che in un modo o nell'altro si abbinano
Vi consiglio caldamente di cercare nei mercatini dell'usato perchè stiamo sempre parlando di trends dell'inizi 2000 quindi è molto facile trovare roba adatta nell'usato!
So to a beginner I would recommend (based on 2010 gyarukei trends):
- Light denim skirt (layered ruffles, pleated or pencil, also a long one is good if you're into himekaji)
- Volume/tutu skirt in basic colors
- Shorts in denim & basic colors
- Light denim pants (sabrina pants are good for almost every substyle; for feminine styles I suggest skinny pants, for boyish styles baggy/boyfriend pants)
- Tshirts/tops according to your substyle (es. Cute prints if you're into himekaji, glam/barbie prints if you're into agejo, college/funny prints for amekaji etc; if they're different in sizes and shapes it's better)
- Sports bra with interesting straps in basic colors
- Otk socks
- Belts (chain belts if you're into agejo, studded belts for tsuyome, leather brown for hime, brown braided for ganguro, colored military belts for amekaji)
Shoes for feminine substyles:
- Maryjanes (black, white, brown)
- Otk boots (black, white, brown)
Shoes for boyish substyles:
- Platform sneakers in basic colors
- Tennis shoes or combat boots in basic colors
- Tons of accessories (e.g. long & short necklaces, bangles, bulky rings etc)
Then you can add denim or brown ruffled vests, legwarmers, lace vests, cardigans, jackets etc but those are the must have imho
The best advice is to invest in rare brand accessories (like the heart Ma*rs belt, or d.i.a belts) & go offbrand on all the rest, because gal trends are generally inspired to western trends so it's really easy to find clothes good for gal!
One last small tip, if you really want a brand piece, is to avoid dresses at the beginning and invest into setups, cuz you can split the pieces and create more outfits than you would with just a dress.

Quindi per iniziare raccomanderei (basato sui trend gyarukei del 2010)
- gonna in jeans chiaro (mini con forma ad A, volume tutu o a balze, in base a quale sottostile volete seguire)
- volume tutu in colori base
- shorts e pantaloni in jeans chiaro (i sabrina pants sono i più popolari negli stili femminili, mentre le salopette e i boyfriend pants sono più tipici degli stili maschiaccio)
- tshirts/tops con stampe basate sul vostro sottostile (es. stampe barbie/makeup/glam/profumo per l'agejo, shabby chic -fiori, gattini, orsetti etc- per l'himekaji, teschi e croci per il rokku etc)
- sports bra in vari colori e modelli (in pizzo e con bretelle carine per gli stili femminili, con stampe & colorati per gli stili maschiaccio)
- calze sopra il ginocchio
- cinture di ogni tipo (a catena per l'agejo, in pelle per lo tsuyome, marroni per l'himekaji, intrecciata per il ganguro etc)
- Scarpe (femminili: maryjanes, stivali sopra il ginocchio, decolletè con la punta arrotondata; maschiaccio: sneakers platform, scarpe da tennis, combat boots)
Infine accessori di tutti i tipi, i più popolari sono i bangles e gli scrunchies nonchè collane di perle colorate e pendenti lunghi
A tutto ciò aggiungete capi complementari particolari, come gilet di pelo o di camoscio, camicie tartan, cardigans da college americano etc
Il consiglio migliore è di investire in accessori brand introvabili diversamente (come la cintura a cuore ma*rs, o certe cinture d.i.a) e vestire offbrand per tutto il resto, perchè davvero la maggior parte dei capi sono ispirati a trend occidentali, quindi è facile trovare cose simili
Un ultimo consiglio, se davvero volete del brand, è di evitare i vestiti all'inizio ed investire piuttosto nei setup, che sono top + gonna solitamente quindi potete dividerli e ricavarci più outfit di quelli che fareste con un vestito.

5. Lifestyle
Ok this is probably the most difficult part and I can't do a shopping list cuz it's all about your life, habits & taste XD I could leave this out but I wanted to add it cuz I don't want to deny the importance of this part
Anyway you know gyaru is a fashion style but also a lifestyle: OG jp gals used to go out in groups, attend dance parties, go to karaoke, shopping, dancing, tanning and take purikura, whatever funny thing they can do with their friends. Indeed in gals blogs there are a lot of posts about beach vacations, camping and bbqs; but also spa, gym and even sports events!
Ok probabilmente questa è la parte più difficile e non posso farvi una lista della spesa perchè si basa sulla vostra vita&abitudini XD potevo tralasciare ma non voglio negare l'importanza di questa parte
Insomma sapete benissimo che il gyaru, oltre ad essere un fashion style, è anche uno stile di vita: le gyaru originali giapponesi avevano una vita molto piena, fatta di uscite di gruppo, feste, karaoke, shopping, solarium e purikura, qualunque cosa divertente potessero fare con i loro amici. Infatti in molti blog gyaru c'erano post su giornate in spiaggia, campeggi e grigliate, ma anche giornate alla spa, in palestra o addirittura giornate allo stadio a guardare le partite di baseball XD
A lot of gals had also more "quiet" lives, where they mostly enjoyed their hobbies (from watching animes to deco everything to writing etc) and went out with one or two close friends.
So it's NOT mandatory to have a brilliant social life to be a gal: you just need to enjoy your life! Otherwise why are you here in the first place XD you're here to have fun with the style, right? So do it!
Enjoy your hobbies! Whatever it is, enjoy it without shame or fear and live to your fullest, because a real gal lives to their fullest without giving a sh*t about people judgement!
MA un sacco di gals avevano vite più tranquille, dove semplicemente si godevano i propri hobbies (dal guardare anime, al decorare oggetti, scrivere etc) e uscivano con uno o due amici stretti e basta.
Quindi NON è essenziale avere una vita supersociale per essere gal: l'importante è godersi la vita facendo ciò che ti piace! Altrimenti perchè saresti qui, no? XD
Vuoi divertirti? Allora fallo!
Goditi i tuoi hobbies! Decora la tua stanza come desideri! Leggi! Fai sport! Qualunque cosa sia, goditela senza vergognarti o avere paura, perchè una vera gal vive la propria vita al massimo senza aver paura del giudizio degli altri!
A big part of this is also to "gyaruify" everything XD OG gals deco'ed EVERYTHING they could get their hands on, it doesn't matter if it was a tissue box or a phone charger ww
They also decorated their rooms, which means hanging curtains with prints you love, add cute carpets of your favorite character, cute kitchenware, whatever could make they happy just looking at it.
I think it is the core of this: add beauty in your life, by improving your look but also surrounding yourself with cute and funny things :D
Una parte importante di questo discorso è rendere tutto "gyaru" XD le gyaru decoravano TUTTO ciò che rimaneva abbastanza fermo a lungo da farsi decorare (iconica è la tartarughina Jimmy di Gal's Life, col guscio decoden XD)
Decoravano anche la propria stanza, con tende, tappeti, oggetti da cucina, qualunque cosa fosse del loro personaggio preferito, carino o semplicemente che le rendevano felici anche solo guardandoli.
Penso che sia proprio questo il "cuore" del gyaru: aggiungere bellezza alla propria vita in qualunque modo, dal migliorare il proprio look al circondare se stessi di cose belle, divertenti e carine :D
5.2 ...But I'm too young for bold makeup and sexy clothes! (Age)
It's hard to hear but sadly that's it: if you're too young for this style, just wait until you're old enough to do it.
I can't deny that gyaru is a really se*ualized style: we use a lot of microskirts, shorts, big cleavages and exposed bras, so I totally understand that younger girls living with stricter rules can't just jump into this.
While the first gals (which were around 16years old at that time) did this style exactly to break stricter rules on purpose, I understand that not everybody wants to fight their parents and get grounded for a too short top. The best suggestion in this case is to use this situation to practice while doing more "simple" substyles, like himekaji, haady or rokku, all styles that don't focus on being sexy but more on being cute, flashy or edgy, so for the younger girls I recommend to start trying those substyles and then, when you're old enough, you can graduate from them and try other "heavier" styles like agejo or tsuyome!
5.2 ... Ma sono troppo giovane per il trucco pesante e i vestiti sexy!
Triste ma purtroppo è la verità: se sei troppo piccola per questo stile, aspetta semplicemente di aver l'età per farlo.
Anche io ho dovuto lottare per iniziare con il gyaru (mia madre è incredibilmente conservatrice e normie), fortunatamente ho iniziato a lavorare poco dopo essermi approcciata al gyaru (aka indipendenza XD) ma per anni ho dovuto lottare con lei
E se avessi iniziato prima, tipo a 16 anni, non mi avrebbe MAI aiutato a comprare qualcosa di gal (mi avrebbe piuttosto buttato qualunque cosa comprassi lol com'è stato col lolita), quindi capisco benissimo, però stiamo parlando di uno stile nato per EMANCIPARE le ragazze giapponesi, che volevano smettere i panni di "oggetto sessuale maschile" per vestirne altri sempre sexy, MA SCELTI DA LORO.
Perchè non smetterò mai di dirlo quanto sia importante potersi vestire sexy perchè IO voglio vedermi bella e seducente, non perchè GLI UOMINI SI ASPETTANO CHE IO SIA COSI'.
Quindi parliamo di uno stile per giovani adulti (dai 16 ai 25 anni) che è normale abbia risvolti sexy
Il consiglio migliore è di avvicinarsi agli stili tipici di Popteen (rivista gal fino al 2016, diretta alla fascia teenager quindi con outfits gals ma più adatti all'età) piuttosto che all'agejo o allo tsuyome (che letteralmente vogliono dire "sexy", quindi non sono esattamente adatti alle ragazzine ^^")
Potete provare l'himekaji, l'amekaji o il rokku (stili meno sexy) finchè non sarete "grandi" abbastanza da poter fare il salto verso quegli stili più maturi!
What if I love only the heavier styles and I'm underage?
Then you can just practice in your room until you're old enough to wear it outside: use this opportunity to study and improve the makeup, hair etc.! You can also try to customize the look to your rules (e.g. wear shorts under short dresses, use plain over the knee stockings instead of fishnet ones, use covering sports bra under babydolls to make them less sexy, etc.) but I understand this tones it down a lot and not everybody will like it ^^"
Just have patience, your gyaru time will come soon, I promise!
E se mi piacessero solo gli stili più maturi ma sono minorenne?
Puoi anche semplicemente fare pratica nella tua stanza finchè non sei grande abbastanza, oppure cercare di adattare il look alle tue "regole" (es. indossando shorts sotto i vestitini, usare calze semplici nere trasparenti o sopra il ginocchio al posto di quelli a rete, indossare canotte o sport bra carini sotto i babydoll per renderli meno sexy etc), ma rende il tutto più smorzato quindi capisco non piaccia o sia difficile da gestire^^"
In ogni caso, con un po' di pazienza e pratica, chiunque può diventare gal :D date semplicemente tempo al tempo e nel frattempo fate pratica e sperimentate!
